We help students develop a healthier relationship with learning. Getting something wrong doesn’t mean something's wrong with them. It's just data. Adjust, try again.
We don't just give students study tips. We teach them what's happening in their brains when they learn, and why different strategies work. When students understand the "why," they're more likely to buy into the process and use those strategies deliberately.
Not every strategy works for every brain. The trick is to find which ones works best for you, and when to use them. We give students practical methods for studying, remembering more, and getting unstuck.

From day one to the long-term shift, here's how it plays out.
The first session is a little different. The focus isn't homework. It's about getting to know one another and figuring out where to start.
We'll talk about the student's goals, explain what to expect, and do a quick practice assessment to get a sense of what they know, where they're struggling, and what we should work on together.
Each session combines learning about learning with putting it into practice.
We'll introduce a learning skill or strategy, then use the student's schoolwork or another goal they're working toward to put it to work.
Over time, students take more ownership of the process. What starts as something we practice together gradually becomes how they approach learning on their own.
The goal is a student who knows what to do when they don't know the answers.
They become more comfortable getting stuck, asking questions, learning from mistakes, and trying again. Instead of seeing difficulty as proof that they can't do something, they learn to see it as part of the process.
By the time they leave us, we want them confident enough to dream big, and equipped to go get it.

Why I Built We Gotcha
Growing up, we didn't have much. Like ketchup crackers for lunch, kind of “not much”, and it shaped how I saw what was possible for me. Coming from a family of generations of factory workers, I assumed I’d have to do that as well. Education changed my outlook. It gave me a way out, and a lot more to be excited about. As a tutor, I want that for my students too: a real shot at finding out what they’re capable of.
After 10+ years of tutoring, I noticed a pattern that scared me. Students were fine learning with guidance, but the second they were asked to learn something on their own
they froze.
For the longest, I didn't know how to help them.
Then, I started teaching myself how to draw from imagination. While watching my favorite artists draw and explain their thought processes on YouTube, one idea kept coming up: Talent wasn’t what made them special. Their strongest skill was learning itself.
After reading everything I could about how learning works, my drawings improved faster than they ever had. I knew I had to share it with my students.
If I could teach them how to learn, I could help them with their classes now, and with everything after. That's why I built We Gotcha. Learning is a skill. I want to teach students how to get good at it.
